Winterflood Business Services hosted a Breakfast Roundtable, which gave the opportunity to discuss and share opinions on the current market and some trends we have been witnessing. It was great to have so many of our clients at our new London office.

Some key takeaways include:

  1. The macro market review from Bradley Dyer, Winterflood CEO, created good discussions on the events of 2023 and the outlook for 2024. With so many geopolitical and other factors to navigate through in 2024 it will not be a quiet year.
  2. As outlined by Ben Hammond from The Lang Cat, Consumer Duty is not a ‘one and done’, there were good views shared on the extensive work completed by firms to date and the continued efforts to deliver for customers.
  3. In the themes for 2024, Alex Kerry, Head of Winterflood Business Services, set out the changes we are seeing in the marketplace, with more ETF usage, an increase in Fixed Income investing, cash as an investment, and a continued desire to better automate to reduce costs, enhance client propositions and strengthen controls. It was good to hear alignment from our client firms and other thoughts on the most important themes for 2024 for them.

We look forward to hosting more client events to ensure we are cultivating an environment where ideas and opinions can be shared.
